Nyepi at Nandini Jungle: A Luxurious Retreat into Stillness

Once a year, Bali embraces Nyepi, the Day of Silence, a sacred tradition marking the Balinese  New Year. From sunrise to sunrise, the island comes to a complete standstill—no flights, no  traffic, no lights. Just the soft rustle of jungle leaves, the distant murmur of the river, and a rare  opportunity to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with yourself.

What is Nyepi?

Nyepi is a Hindu Balinese New Year celebration, a day dedicated to self-reflection, spiritual  cleansing, and restoring harmony between nature and humanity. Leading up to Nyepi, vibrant  rituals unfold—the Melasti purification ceremony, the dramatic Ogoh-Ogoh parade, and the  symbolic burning of demon effigies to drive away negative spirits. Then, as dawn breaks on  March 29, 2025, silence falls, and Bali enters a full day of meditation and renewal.
